How to Draw a Soccer Ball: step-by-step instructions
The new lines in each step are shown in red.
-

Step 1
Draw a big circle. This is the outline of the ball. Tip: trace around a bowl or a roll of tape for a perfect circle.
-

Step 2
Draw a pentagon (a shape with five sides) right in the middle of the circle.
-

Step 3
From each corner of the pentagon, draw a short straight line pointing out toward the edge of the circle.
-

Step 4
At the end of each line, draw another pentagon. The ones near the edge get cut off by the circle, so you only see part of them.
-

Step 5
Connect the pentagons with lines to make six-sided hexagons all over the ball. Near the edge, the lines simply stop at the circle.
-

Step 6
Color the pentagons black and leave the hexagons white. Your classic soccer ball is done!
