About this game
30 printable word cards for a pictionary-style drawing game: halloween words, spooky but not too scary, from pumpkin to goblin. Cut along the dashed lines, fold the cards and let players draw one at a time. First graders can do it on their own once they know the strategy at the top of the page. Orange, purple, black and lime green make a classic Halloween palette.
Tips for using it
- Color the sky dark blue for a night scene.
- Set a timer for one minute; a short limit keeps the drawings quick and the game loud.
- No letters, no numbers, no pointing at things in the room. Sounds and gestures from the guessers are fine.
- Let the youngest player use picture cards while the others draw from the word lists.
Printing tips
Download the PDF for the sharpest result and print at 100% (or “fit to page” on A4). The PNG is 300 DPI, which is handy for tablets and coloring apps. This page is free for personal, family and classroom use.
