Finish the Drawing Printables

Updated October 2026 · 7 free printables

Finish the drawing pages with a different kind of starter on every sheet: the first lines of an animal, a holiday picture or a vehicle; a squiggle, a loop or three dots; and four scene starters like a hill with a path or a sea with waves.

Each box asks a question (finish the cat, what could this be, who lives on the hill?) and leaves the rest to the child. On the whiteboard, one player draws the starter and the other finishes it, then they swap.

Frequently asked questions

What is the squiggle game?

One person draws a random squiggle, the other turns it into a picture. Our squiggle pages give six starters per sheet so two kids can race, or a child can do one box a day.

Is there a right answer?

No. The started drawings suggest an animal or object, but a child who turns the cat's head into a lion or a space helmet is playing it right.

What age are these for?

From about 3 (squiggles and scenes) to 7 or 8 (the started drawings with more detail). Older kids like adding backgrounds and stories.

Can I use them in class?

Yes. They work as a morning warm-up, an early finisher task or a drawing prompt before writing.
