About this worksheet
The first six months of the year (January, February, March, April, May and June) to trace on handwriting lines, each with a start-dot copy and space to write the word again. First graders can do it on their own once they know the strategy at the top of the page.
Tips for using it
- Check the grip first: pencil held between thumb and pointer finger, resting on the middle finger.
- Leave a finger space between words; let your child lay a finger on the line after each word.
- Short, daily practice beats long sessions; stop while it is still fun.
Printing tips
Download the PDF for the sharpest result and print at 100% (or “fit to page” on A4). The PNG is 300 DPI, which is handy for tablets and coloring apps. This page is free for personal, family and classroom use.
