About this game
A creativity page built on one shape: six zigzags, the first already turned into a crown as an example. Kids make the other five into something new each time (ideas: a crown, mountains, a dragon's back, a shark's teeth, grass, a lightning bolt or a heart monitor line) and write what each one became. First graders can do it on their own once they know the strategy at the top of the page.
Tips for using it
- Say the shape's name and spin the page; a triangle upside down looks like an ice cream cone.
- Ask what the shape could be if it were tiny, and what if it were huge.
- Add a line under the box for the name of the thing, and spell it together.
Printing tips
Download the PDF for the sharpest result and print at 100% (or “fit to page” on A4). The PNG is 300 DPI, which is handy for tablets and coloring apps. This page is free for personal, family and classroom use.
