About this worksheet
A one-page checklist of all 40 Dolch Pre-Primer sight words, from "a" to "you", with an "I can read it" box for each word and progress stars to color. Handy for tracking which words a child knows. It is made for pre-K, roughly ages 4 to 5: big letters, a picture clue and lots of coloring.
Tips for using it
- Test with flash cards in a random order: a child who reads a list top to bottom may be remembering the order, not the words.
- Count a word as known when your child reads it within about three seconds on two different days.
- Work on one list at a time, but keep reviewing the earlier lists so old words stay fresh.
- Write the date in the box instead of a check mark to see how fast progress is.
Printing tips
Download the PDF for the sharpest result and print at 100% (or “fit to page” on A4). The PNG is 300 DPI, which is handy for tablets and coloring apps. This page is free for personal, family and classroom use.
