About this worksheet
Six 3-digit by 1-digit long division problems that all have a remainder, each with a check line underneath: quotient x divisor + remainder = dividend. Kids learn to prove their own answer instead of waiting for the key. It is built for fourth grade, around ages 9 to 10.
Tips for using it
- Say every division fact as a multiplication question: 42 divided by 6 means 6 times what is 42?
- In long division, line up the digits in columns; graph paper or wide spacing stops most mistakes.
- Check the answer by multiplying back and adding the remainder.
Printing tips
Download the PDF and print at 100% (or “fit to page” on A4). Page 1 is the worksheet and page 2 is the answer key with the answers in red; print just page 1 if you want to keep the answers for checking. Free for personal, family and classroom use.
