About this worksheet
Five word problems solved with long division of a 3-digit number by a 1-digit number: sharing pencils, filling album pages, counting buses for a field trip, equal savings. Three stories need the remainder interpreted, and the answer key writes each answer in words. It is built for fourth grade, around ages 9 to 10. Draw a quick picture of each story before writing the number sentence.

Tips for using it
- Underline the question and circle the numbers before solving.
- Say every division fact as a multiplication question: 42 divided by 6 means 6 times what is 42?
- In long division, line up the digits in columns; graph paper or wide spacing stops most mistakes.
- Check the answer by multiplying back and adding the remainder.
