About this worksheet

Letters A to F, one big row each: ant, bus, cow, dog, egg and fish. Trace the capital and small letter in color, then the picture word, on tall handwriting lines that link each letter with its sound. It suits ages 4 to 6, and little ones can count the pictures with a finger.

Tips for using it

Say the letter name and its sound out loud each time your child traces it: "B, buh, ball".
Trace the big letter with a finger first, then a crayon, then a pencil, so the movement is learned before neatness counts.
Praise good starts: if the pencil begins on the green dot and follows the arrow, the letter is right even if it wobbles.

Printing tips

Download the PDF for the sharpest result and print at 100% (or “fit to page” on A4). The PNG is 300 DPI, which is handy for tablets and coloring apps. This page is free for personal, family and classroom use.
