About this worksheet
The page is an empty grid with a single 1 in the top left corner and 99 empty boxes. The instruction gives the two rules of the chart, each number is 1 more going across and 10 more going down, and the child writes every number from 1 to 100. Page 2 is the finished chart in plain black, which works on its own as a reference chart for the fridge or a folder. Writing a full hundreds chart takes a first grader twenty to thirty minutes and is best split over two sittings, fifty numbers each. It is the final step after the charts with missing numbers, and the one that shows whether the sequence is really known.
Tips for using it
- Do rows 1 to 5 one day and rows 6 to 10 the next.
- Have your child write the right-hand column (10, 20, 30 ...) first as a guide.
- Print page 2 separately and keep it where homework happens.
- After filling the chart, color every number that ends in 5 to see the pattern.
