This maze by the numbers
On this 6 x 6 grid the only correct path runs through 23 of the 36 squares (about 64%) and turns 13 times between START and FINISH. It has 6 dead ends where a wrong turn stops, and most kids at this level finish it in about 2 minutes. Bonus challenge: after you reach FINISH, color the 23 squares of the right path in one color, then hunt down all 6 dead ends and mark each one with an X. If you count fewer than 6, keep looking!
Tips for using it
- Trace the correct path with a highlighter once you solve it.
- Color the start and finish arrows in green and red.
- Add white for snow.
- Make a three-page packet per child: one word search, one maze and one math or reading page at their level. It fills a quiet 20 minutes.
