About this worksheet
An 8 by 9 maze: lead the snowman in his beanie to the steaming mug of hot cocoa at the bottom right. Enough turns and dead ends to keep a kindergartner busy for a few minutes, with the solution on page 2. Easy puzzles build confidence before moving to bigger grids. Red, green and gold make a classic Christmas palette.
This maze by the numbers
On this 8 x 9 grid the only correct path runs through 42 of the 72 squares (about 58%) and turns 26 times between START and FINISH. It has 7 dead ends where a wrong turn stops, and most kids at this level finish it in about 3 minutes. Bonus challenge: after you reach FINISH, color the 42 squares of the right path in one color, then hunt down all 7 dead ends and mark each one with an X. If you count fewer than 7, keep looking!
Tips for using it
- Trace the correct path with a highlighter once you solve it.
- Color the start and finish arrows in green and red.
- Add white for snow.
- Make a three-page packet per child: one word search, one maze and one math or reading page at their level. It fills a quiet 20 minutes.
Printing tips
