About this worksheet
Six puzzle-shaped groups of boxes are missing from the chart, and the six pieces are printed at the bottom with their numbers showing: 84, 85, 86 and 95 in one, 78, 88, 98 and 99 in a tall one, 12, 13, 23 and 24 in a square, 62, 63, 64 in a row, 39, 49, 59 and 58 in a bent strip and 6, 16, 17, 8, 18 in the oddest shape. The child reads the numbers, finds the hole with the right shape and neighbors, and glues each piece down. Page 2 shows the finished chart with the pieces colored. It is a first-grade activity of about fifteen minutes with scissors and a glue stick.
Tips for using it
- Have your child find where 62, 63, 64 goes first by looking for 61 and 65 on the chart.
- Cut all six pieces before gluing any, and lay them loosely in place to check.
- Ask why 78 sits above 88 in its piece.
- Use the key on page 2 to check before the glue dries.
