About this game
The left side shows a tall tower with a pointed roof and a flag, a shorter tower, battlements between them, narrow arched windows and half of the main gate, all in black; the right side repeats the shapes in light gray dots along the dashed center line. The three prompt cards below ask the child to draw a king and a queen at the gate, add a moat with a bridge and a dragon, and put a flag on every tower, each with a done circle. Kindergartners trace the many straight lines in about ten minutes and spend as long again on the prompts. Page 2 shows a finished castle. The footer suggests the half-drawing game on a whiteboard.
Tips for using it
- Trace the tallest tower first, then the roofline across to the right.
- Give the right tower a flag pointing the same way as the left one.
- Draw the moat all the way around the castle, under both halves.
- Color the roofs one color and the stone walls gray.
