About this game
The left wing, body and one antenna are printed in solid black, with spots and circles on the wing; the right half is the same shape in light gray dots along a dashed center line, so a child traces the mirror image rather than inventing it. Under the picture are three numbered prompt cards, each with a small picture and a done circle: draw spots and stripes on the wings, draw a flower for it to land on, add the sun and a cloud in the sky. Preschoolers can trace the dots; the prompts add about ten minutes. Page 2 shows a finished example. The footer suggests drawing half of something on a whiteboard for your child to complete.
Tips for using it
- Trace the gray dots slowly, keeping the pencil on the paper for each curve.
- Make the spots on the right wing match the ones on the left.
- Color the done circle on each prompt card as you finish it.
- Fold the page down the dashed line to check that the wings match.
