About this game
The left half shows a round face with a tuft of hair, one ear, one eye with an eyebrow, half a nose, a wide smile and a few freckles, all in black; the right half repeats it in light gray dots along the dashed center line. The three prompt cards below ask the child to give the face a hat, a crown or big hair, add glasses, a mustache or earrings, and draw the neck and a shirt with a pattern, with a done circle for each. Preschoolers trace easily and the prompts turn it into a fifteen-minute portrait session. Page 2 shows one finished version. The footer suggests playing the half-drawing game on a whiteboard and swapping roles.
Tips for using it
- Trace the smile and the eye first so the face looks friendly right away.
- Give the face the same freckles on the right cheek as on the left.
- Pick a crown or big hair for prompt 1 and make it as silly as you like.
- Name the person and write it under the shirt.
