About this game
The left side of the house is printed in black: a sloping roof, a chimney, a window with four panes and half of an arched door with a doorknob; the right side repeats it in light gray dots along a dashed center line for the child to trace. Three prompt cards below ask for more: draw who lives here at the door, add a tree, a path and some flowers, and draw the sun or the moon over the roof, each with a done circle to color. Preschoolers manage the tracing; the prompts add their own ideas. About fifteen minutes in all. Page 2 shows a finished house, and the footer suggests the half-drawing game on a whiteboard.
Tips for using it
- Trace the roof line first, then the wall, then the window and door.
- Draw your own family at the door for prompt 1.
- Choose sun or moon and color the sky to match.
- Add a house number and a mailbox of your own.
