About this game
The left half of the rocket is printed in black: a curved nose, a long body with a stripe, half of a round window, a swept fin and a flame at the base; the right half mirrors it in light gray dots along the dashed center line. Three prompt cards with done circles follow: draw an astronaut waving in the window, add planets, stars and a comet, and draw big flames and a cloud of smoke. Kindergartners trace the long curves in a few minutes and spend the rest of fifteen filling the sky around the rocket. Page 2 shows a finished rocket in flight. The footer suggests drawing half a picture on a whiteboard for the child to finish.
Tips for using it
- Trace the long body curves in one slow stroke each.
- Draw the astronaut's face inside the window before adding the helmet.
- Fill the empty sky with stars of different sizes and one comet.
- Color the flames orange and yellow and the smoke gray.
